Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

We’re close to the end of Microsoft’s week-long reveal of several Xbox One bundles that will be made available for this holiday season. The company announced bundles for Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Lego Movie Videogame, and for Gears of War, Rare Replay, and Ori and the Blind Forest. Today, Microsoft has revealed two new Xbox One bundles, one of which includes the elusive Cirrus White Xbox One console.

The first bundle Microsoft revealed revealed was the Xbox One Special Edition Gears of War Bundle. The bundle includes a 500GB Cirrus White console and Xbox One Wireless Controller with 3.5mm headset jack, a redeemable code for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and early access to the Gears of War 4 beta.

The second bundle is the Xbox One with Kinect Bundle. This bundle features a 500GB Xbox One console, Xbox One wireless controller, a Kinect sensor, and redeemable codes for Dance Central, Kinect Sports Rivals, and Zoo Tycoon.

The Xbox One Special Edition Gears of War Bundle will be available exclusively at Walmart for $349 starting in November, while the Xbox One with Kinect Bundle will be available in October for $499.

PlayStation Theater takes over New York City's Best Buy Theater

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Sony has announced it has stuck its PlayStation flag right in the middle of Times Square. The 45,000-square foot concert and special events venue, previously known as the Best Buy Theater, has officially been renamed to the PlayStation Theater.

The partnership between Sony and New York City includes rebranding all of the Theater’s interior and exterior signage, live performances on PlayStation Network, experiential marketing initiatives, and VIP hospitality opportunities.

Prior to becoming the PlayStation Theater, the newly-rebranded venue had a number of iconic performances by artists like Bon Jovi, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, The Eagles and more. The theater has also hosted a number of special events like Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Even and Good Morning America’s concert series performances.

We find this rebranding particularly interesting considering how many events Microsoft holds in Times Square for a number of big launches. Now that Sony has claimed the area for its own, we have a feeling Microsoft will have to find somewhere else in New York City to host its launch parties.

Sony has yet to release any official images of the PlayStation Theater, but James Young on Twitter gives us a glimpse of the outside of the theater from his office across the street:

Deus Ex Mankind Divided Augmented Pre-Order Program Cancelled

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

It looks like not every augment is worth having. Square Enix and Eidos Montreal announced today on the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided website that the "Augment Your Pre-order program" has been officially canceled. The reasons cited include frustration among fans and a "resounding amount of negative feedback."

The Augment Your Pre-order program was implemented as a means to let fans choose what pre-order bonuses they wanted. The 5-tier selection system had 1-3 rewards each. Undisclosed pre-order goals unlocked a tier, and then customers would secretly vote for the bonuses they wanted. Rewards included special costumes, a digital art book, game soundtrack, and an earlier release date for pre-order customers.

Now that the program is canceled, all the pre-order incentives will now be offered as a straightforward pre-order incentive. However, there will not be an early release of the game. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will release for everyone on February 23, 2016.
