Activision is aware of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 many bugs

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 has had a lot of issues since it launched this week. The game is riddled with bugs, glitches, and performance issues, and today, Activision has released a statement regarding these issues.

In a statement sent to Shacknews, Activision says it’s “aware of the issues that players have experienced following the launch of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 and are working with the developer to address these so that we can continue to improve the gameplay experience for all of the Tony Hawk fans who have known and loved this franchise for more than 16 years.”

While we’re sure fans of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series appreciate Activision looking into the issues the game has had since its launch, it makes us wonder how so many bugs made it into the finished product. Regardless, it’s good to see Activision is working on these issues.

The Angry Video Game Nerd returns with AVGN II: ASSimilation this winter

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

A little over two years ago, internet personality The Angry Video Game Nerd (a.k.a. filmmaker James Rolfe) starred in a video game of his own. Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures was a side-scrolling platformer in the vein of Mega Man or Castlevania. But it was one that developer FreakZone Games infused with brutal challenges and plenty of bullet hell. Now the developer and the Nerd appear to be back for more.

ScrewAttack announced earlier today that the Nerd will star in a sequel called The Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation, which sees the Nerd fight even more strange creatures with only the aid of his NES Zapper. FreakZone Games confirmed on its own Twitter account that it would be back on development duty. The Nerd will get his same shooting mechanics, but also get some new inventory items and a new wall sliding ability, among other new features.

No release date has been issued, but look for the Nerd to return this winter, most likely on PC. And hopefully, look for Rolfe himself to eventually look at the game himself, just like last time.

Minecraft: Story Mode trailer tells the legend of 'The Order of the Stone'

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

October is here and that means it's almost time to enter the world of Minecraft for Minecraft: Story Mode. Telltale Games has released the game's latest trailer, which sets up the game's plot and foretells great impending peril.

The latest trailer for the first episode, "The Order of the Stone," introduces the titular Order, telling of their great exploits against the powerful Ender Dragon. It also sets up what's coming, with a new ragtag crew facing new danger, as the remnants of the Order call them into action. Telltale also revealed the voice cast for the Order members themselves, revealing Dave Fennoy as Gabriel the Warrior, Corey Feldman as Magnus the Griefer, Grey Griffin as Ellegaard the Redstone Engineer, and John Hodgman as Soren the Architect.

Telltale will also be holding a massive Let's Play event on the night before the first episode's release. Los Angeles residents can hit the Arclight Cinerama Dome theater in Hollywood on October 12 at 7PM (with doors opening at 6PM) to participate in a theater-wide playthrough of the game's premiere episode.

Minecraft: Story Mode will hit PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and mobile devices starting on October 13. Wii U and Vita versions are expected in 2016. Retail versions will also release on October 27.

Street Fighter 5 welcomes Zangief back with new trailer

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Arguably, no Street Fighter character has seen his stock rise more over the past couple of years than Zangief. Between getting some top-level tournament play from competitors like Darryl "Snake Eyez" Lewis and appearing in a memorable cameo role in Wreck-It Ralph, there's never been a better time for the Russian bear. And given that Street Fighter V is seeing its fair share of grapplers, it only makes sense that the best among them be the next returning character.

Capcom confirmed Zangief's return earlier today with a new trailer. He can be found delivering some of his signature moves, like the spinning pile driver and other hard-hitting wrestling moves. He even appears to bring in some aspects of his Ultra Street Fighter IV character into the arena, as he can be seen absorbing hits Red Focus-style before delivering a world of hurt with unstoppable tornado lariats and a devastating back suplex.

Street Fighter V is still set to get a cross-play beta across PlayStation 4 and PC in the near future. Look for the game to release on both of those platforms in Spring 2016.
