Amazon Studios will release The Aeronauts in theaters on December 6th. The film will be available on Prime Video December 20th.

Welcome to prestige pic season, when a parade of biopics will be launched in hopes of scoring critical praise soaring into the Academy Awards. Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne are no strangers to the tribulations and exhilaration of award season, having earned matching Academy Award nominations for the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything. Redmayne even went on to win. So, perhaps they hoped lightning would strike twice as they reteamed for The Aeronauts, another historical drama of human triumph and scientific endeavor. However, this one is a major misfire, stretching the bounds of patience as well as the legitimacy of "based on real events."

Like Watchmen’s stellar entry in episode 6 last week, a walk through the memories of Hooded Justice, this week’s “An Almost Religious Awe” keeps one eye on the past while exploring the mysteries of the present. It isn’t as smooth as its predecessor — in the interest of info-dumps, it occasionally takes dramatic shortcuts — but its segments of memory flashback, which dive into the childhood trauma of Angela Abar (Regina King), fit together with even more precision.

Batwoman: Season 1, Episode 8 Review

Warning: this review contains full spoilers for Batwoman: Season 1, Episode 8. If you need a refresher on where we left off, here's our review for Season 1, Episode 7.

For all intents and purposes, "A Mad Tea-Party" is Batwoman's mid-season finale. There's still technically one episode left before the winter break in the form of next week's "Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part 2," but this is the episode tasked with tying up loose ends and leaving viewers with a cliffhanger strong enough to tide them over until January. Fortunately, this episode is largely successful in that goal. The rivalry between Kate Kane and her estranged, homicidal sister takes on a much darker and more urgent slant this week.

My Hero Academia: Season 4, Episode 7 Review

Episode 7 of My Hero Academia, “GO!!,” begins with a taut, clear, and punchy summary of every important moment from the previous episode. In case you missed the lifeless meander that was Season 4, episode 6, this refresher tells you everything you need to know in a little over a minute’s worth of flashbacks: the power of Overhaul’s quirk, the quirk-draining weapon he has created, and the heroes’ mission to find Eri and keep her safe. From here, the status quo has been established, and judging from this prelude and the title of the episode, it’s a good sign that the gloves are off and our heroes are about to come out swinging.
