Darksiders Genesis Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Darksiders Genesis is a great new direction for a series known for its many different directions. While its isometric view may conjure thoughts of loot-centric action-RPGs along the lines of Diablo or Path of Exile, rest assured this is a Darksiders game, through and through. It’s an action-adventure complete with hard-hitting combat, dungeon diving, exploration, and more than a few “Press B to Brutally Murder” executions. What it lacks in Blizzard-level polish it makes up for with a respectable amount of content. Most importantly, though, is how Genesis manages to be just as fun at the start of its solo and co-op campaign as it is at the end thanks to a wide variety of enemies, well-thought-out character progression, and smart level design that encourages and rewards thorough exploration of its expansive environments.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Disney World Ride Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Editor's note: Despite IGN being in the business of reviews for more than a decade, theme park ride reviews are still new for us - but we know that they're of interest to a portion of our audience, especially when they're based on franchises we care about. We want to offer an honest assessment of whether we believe a theme park attraction is worth your time, just as we do with games, movies, and TV shows, with the caveat that your own experience will undoubtedly be colored by what you enjoy most about theme park rides, so we encourage you to visit the park and experience it for yourself if you can, and share your thoughts on how we can make these reviews more useful to you in the comments!

Arrow: Season 8, Episode 7 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: this review contains full spoilers for Arrow: Season 8, Episode 7! If you need a refresher on where we left off, here's our review for Season 8, Episode 6.

“Purgatory” probably shouldn’t work as well as it does. Arrow already made its grand return to Lian Yu once before. The Season 5 finale dragged Ollie and his friends back to the island for a final battle with Adrian Chase. The result was (and still is), Arrow’s single best episode. “Purgatory” doesn’t quite reach that level, but it’s close enough. And in the process, Arrow proves Oliver Queen can still go home again.

The Flash: Season 6, Episode 8 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: this review contains full spoilers for The Flash: Season 6, Episode 8. If you need a refresher on where we left off, here's our review for Season 6, Episode 7.

This week's Flash episode “The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Part 2” picks up where the previous installment left off, and if last week’s story was a psychological thriller inside Barry Allen’s mind, this week is Night of the Living Dead through a Flash lens.

Not even The Flash logo on the title card is safe from Bloodwork, as the episode has an almost Venom-like black drip all over it. That blackness extends to people all over Central City, including Barry himself, all under Bloodwork’s thrall. We learn that the only way he can infect a body is if someone is afraid, and with fear all over the city, there are a lot of zombie-like people running around. Of course, Ramsey/Bloodwork thinks he’s “curing" people by giving them eternal life, but to any of us who have seen The Walking Dead, it’s more like they’re a weird mix of zombies and vampires.
