Fear the Walking Dead wasted little time getting out onto the open waters in its Season 2 premiere, "Monster," as right out of the gate our main characters scrambled to escape a fiery horizon and board Strand's yacht, The Abigail.
It was an interesting, exciting way to kick things off (given that the rest of the episode would never reach this level of intensity), but also a strange one. Time jumps are fine. But a time jump this small feel unwarranted. As in, we're really only a couple days out (or less) from the Season 1 finale - given the state of Liza's body, Chris' feelings, etc - but somehow the world has quickly gone to carpet-bombing hell. I don't know what I'd want, necessarily, from more time on land, but I did feel like something was missing here.
