Gears of War 4 coming in October

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

The Coalition has announced that Gears of War 4 will launch on October 11. 

The studio made the announcement on Xbox Wire, where it also reiterated the dates for the multiplayer beta. Anyone who played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 will be allowed in first on April 18, and then it will expand to all Xbox Live Gold members on April 25. 

Gears of War 4 debuted last year at E3, and it's likely to be a major showpiece at this year's presentation as well. This sequel stars JD Fenix, the adult son of previous protagonist Marcus Fenix, and takes place 25 years after the original series.
