Harley Quinn: April Fool's Special #1 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

DC didn't necessarily put a lot of marketing muscle behind this comic, considering that its main selling point is "Jim Lee drawing Harley Quinn." This one-shot certainly has an impressive art team going for it. It also serves as a primer for DC's upcoming Suicide Squad relaunch, with which both Lee and writer Rob Williams will be involved.  And for all that DC has struggled to put out a Suicide Squad comic worthy of the franchise's legacy, this issue suggests there are better days on the horizon.

It's tough to accurately summarize this comic or why it has the "Suicide Squad" name on the cover alongside Harley's. The story is fairly disjointed in its transition from one beat to the next and doesn't really coalesce until the very end. This is a bit off-putting, but also appropriate given the nature of Harley's mental state. In a nutshell, this issue follows Harley as she decides to flex her psychiatric muscles and offer therapy to her fellow supervillains, whether they want it or not.
