iZombie: "Reflections of the Way Liv Used to Be" Review

There were some elements of this week’s brain case (that term works for iZombie, right?) that didn’t quite work. The “bro” shtick was a bit repetitive of the frat episode and Liv pondering what she was like in her pre-zombie days was an interesting idea that got a bit lost in the shuffle – though I did like her wondering if Ravi would have ever wanted to be friends with her if she’d never changed.

However, with the case once more tied into the main plotline, even more pieces were put in place for the season finale in an exciting manner. I was glad we learned more about Benedetto (the always-great Enrico Colantoni) and that rather than making him a simple "corrupt cop," he was instead a fairly exploitive cop, who would use his hold over students he’d caught committing crimes to get them to turn informant for him. It was a nice, suitably murky middle ground rather than painting him as all-good or all-bad.
