Capcom reveals Street Fighter 5 server status, upcoming PC features, and more

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Capcom was forced to bring down its servers for Street Fighter 5 recently in order to apply a fix that would hopefully fix all of the issues it’s been having, which includes issues with online functionality, issues logging in, intermittent disconnects, and more. Today, Capcom is updating players what it’s doing to address some of these issues.

On the network side of things, Capcom says login and intermittent connectivity issues should now be “less frequent” now that all platforms and regions have launched, thus allowing the service to stabilize. Matchmaking issues should also now be resolved.

PC players who are experiencing game boot-up or crashing issues, Capcom recommends checking your antivirus software settings as it may be preventing Street Fighter 5 from launching. Adding StreetFighterV.exe and/or the game installation directory to the exclusion list should prevent this issue.

For the PC version of Street Fighter 5, Capcom is looking into adding a number of requested features, such as native DirectInput support to allow existing PS3/PS4 arcade sticks playable on the platform, expand key rebinding functionality and in-game language options, and cleaning up resolution switching.

Capcom plans on rolling out another round of updates to Street Fighter 5, although we doubt with everything going on, it’ll be the “free update in March” we’ve been hearing about so often lately.
