Marvel has put a lot of effort into positioning Iron Man as their flagship hero for the All-New, All-Different Marvel era, including tasking superstar writer Brian Michael Bendis with overhauling Tony Stark and his world. As was the case with his Avengers and X-Men runs, Bendis is now expanding his plans for Iron Man into a second ongoing series. Whether there's really a demand for a second Iron Man comic remains to be seen, but at least International Iron Man is sufficiently different from its sister series.
If this series were devoted to nothing more than Tony Stark's misadventures in other countries, that might not be enough to justify its own existence. After all, Tony has already spent plenty of time on foreign soil in Invincible Iron Man. But where Invincible is devoted to looking ahead and exploring what's next for Team Iron Man, International seems more intent on illuminating the past (particularly the question of his real family heritage). Very little of this issue even unfolds in the present or features Tony in his armor. The majority plays out as an extended flashback to Tony's time as a student at Cambridge and his blossoming romance with a fellow student.
