Nintendo has announced Metroid Prime: Federation Force will release on the Nintendo 3DS on August 19.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force was first announced during E3 2015, and caused quite a stir within the gaming community as a Change.org petition reached over 20,000 signatures to outright cancel the upcoming 3DS title. Shortly after its announcement, we got some hands-on time with the game where we considered it to resemble a friendly game of soccer, but with way more killing.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a first-person shooter that will feature four-player co-op and is a spin-off of the Metroid Prime series where players assume the role of a Galactic Federation Marine. The game incorporates a number of co-op elements into its core gameplay, although Federation Force lacks the touch-based controls of Hunters and the scanning mechanics of the Metroid series.
