Outcast: "(I Remember) When She Loved Me" Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow.

Even though we're only two episodes into Season 1, don't let it be said that Outcast doesn't know how to drop one helluva disturbing opening image! Not only did this week's flashback storyline give us a better sense of how Kyle dealt with his mother's possession as a child, but it also complemented the present-day conflict, as he came to terms with the reality of his mother's catatonic state.

While we got a glimpse of Kyle's mother Sarah (Julia Crockett) in the premiere, but "(I Remember) When She Loved Me" really delved into her past and current relationship with her son, as seen through Kyle's point of view. I thought this episode did a really great job of intercutting between the past and present, both in terms of creating jarring moments and showing us just how deep the experience had cut into Kyle's life.
