Bethesda Softworks and id Software released Doom on May 13, 2016 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 as a major reboot of the Doom series and marks the first major installment in the series since Doom 3, which launched in 2004. The game features three key principles: badass demons, big effing guns, and really fast movement, while its multiplayer has several modes to enjoy, including domination, warpath, and freeze tag.
Doom also an in-game mapping component called SnapMap. SnapMap gives players the ability to design their own maps within a powerful and easy-to-use tool. SnapMap creators can build their own structures and game logic and then share their creation with others.
Long-time fans of Doom will be pleased to know the new Doom has a number of references and easter eggs that pay homage to the series as whole. There’s also a wide variety of weapons that can be picked up, including the BFG 9000 and the Super Shotgun. With that said, here’s everything you need in order to survive your brush with the demonic plague in Doom.
