Homefront: The Revolution Developer outlines development difficulties

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

Homefront: The Revolution dropped on PC and consoles this Tuesday, closing the book on a difficulty development cycle. How difficult? You'll find out when you finish the game, courtesy of a note written by Dambuster Studios director Hasit Zala.

Writer and podcaster Colin Tanner shared the note via Twitter. In his missive, Zala touches on highlights and lowlights of Revolution's four-year cycle, including multiple reboots, original publisher THQ filing for bankruptcy in 2012 and selling off its IPs, and new owner Crytek taking possession of the developer, only to sell the Homefront IP to Deep Silver, who helped establish Dambuster so Zala and his team could continue their work.

Fortunately, Zala had allies who supported him every step of the way. "I would especially like to acknowledge [Koch Media's] Klemens Kundratitz' and Huw Beynon's unwavering support without which this game and this studio would not exist."

Zala also thanked fans who enjoyed the game, and most importantly, his dedicated team. "For the team members that have made it to the end I salute you for your endeavour. To create a game of this size and complexity with a relatively small team is a remarkable achievement. For those that we lost along the way, I would like to thank you for all your contributions and you will find your names in the special thank you section."
