Infinity Ward and Treyarch have rotated point position on Call of Duty installments for years, and Sledgehammer Games joined the rotation in 2014. With the series being passed to a different studio each year, it's inevitable that some aspects of each year's game will feel different than previous installments.
At the very least, players migrating from Black Ops 3 to Infinite Warfare this fall should feel comfortable moving around. In a tweet from earlier today, Infinity Ward allayed concerns by confirming that Black Ops 3's chain-based movement system "will feel natural" when it makes the jump to this year's game.
Chain-based movement alludes to parkour-style acrobatics like wall running and double jumping. GameStop's listing for Infinite Warfare likewise makes mention of "Call of Duty's popular chain-based movement system with ground-breaking gameplay innovations."
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be available on November 4 for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.
