Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...
Humans' penultimate Season 1 episode gave us another big death and another big revelation while reining everything back into the Hawkins household for some occasionally unwelcome soapy family drama.
As usual with this series, it was a mix of incredibly effective and rushed waste. I really liked Odi and George's final moments together ("You have died, George"), but George's death itself? It felt sort of empty. Looking back on the character, he was ultimately meant to teach Niska about empathy and control. He was homebound and couldn't do much more. On the "big answers" front, he provided very little. And then, by the end of this chapter, Niska and the rest of the Synths almost all revered back to hating humans. So George's arc would up being an empty one in the long run.
