Just a week after announcing that Star Wars Battlefront multiplayer would take to the skies, EA and DICE have revealed more plans about how it would further take the fight to the ground. Earlier today, DICE went into more detail about a new game mode called Supremacy, which will further usher in some of the Star Wars franchise's greatest heroes and villains.
"Supremacy centers on five control points scattered across the map," explains the Battlefront website. "The objective is gaining control of all five, or the majority of them, before the 10 minute round is over. Each team starts the match controlling two of these control points, initially fighting for control of the fifth one in the center. After this is determined, the control points need to be claimed in a set order. This means the action will be taking place on two control points at a time – one for each team."
So it's essentially a twist on the standard Conquest/Domination mode, throwing players head-first into the action. In fact, DICE states that the map sizes will be comparable to Battlefield's Conquest maps. The post goes on to describe a frontline filled with infantry, starfighters, and vehicles, as well as iconic Star Wars characters. The term "unique abilities" is thrown around, but no specifics are revealed on what these characters can do just yet. Players will also spawn in closer to the action for less downtime.
Look for more on Star Wars Battlefront before the game's big release in November.
