The Corsair Harpoon RGB (See it on Amazon) sits on the bottom rung of Corsair’s mouse line-up, but it is not without its charms. Corsair makes smart sacrifices to hit a very reasonable $29.99 price for the Harpoon RGB. Like its name suggests, the mouse features RGB lighting along with precise performance with five DPI settings, plus a useful sniper setting you won’t find on other budget mice. We put it through its paces to see how it stacks up to other budget gaming mice:

Westworld's Origin Story is Every Bit as Messed Up as You'd Expect

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

This review contains spoilers for Westworld Season 2, episode 2, "Reunion." To refresh your memory of where we left off, check out our review of the Season 2 premiere, and our explainer on what the ending of episode 1 could mean.

From the beginning, Westworld has interrogated our oh-so human tendency to play god, but that symbolism becomes literal in episode 2. First, we get to see the origin of the park through the eyes of the arrogant Logan Delos (Ben Barnes), who finds himself enticed by the incredible technological advances of a company known as the Argos Initiative, which is seeking funding to build a "tangible" experience far beyond virtual reality. The practical applications for the technology are spectacularly demonstrated when he's taken to a private show (all orchestrated by Ford and Arnold, we discover in the opening scene) and comes to realize that he's surrounded by hosts who are indistinguishable from humans - right down to their capacity for sex, as Angela proves. Knowing Logan as we do, it's no surprise that a quick roll in the hay is what convinces him to invest.

Ash vs. Evil Dead's Final Episode Was Groovy, Gruesome...and Sad

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: Full spoilers for the Ash vs. Evil Dead series finale follow...

Firstly, it's a bit of a bummer that Ash vs. Evil Dead wrapped up its third season with an Army of Darkness U.K./Director's Cut-style ending instead of something a little more gift wrapped (like the Army of Darkness U.S. theatrical ending) since this was to be the final episode ever.

I get it. You hedge your bets. You can't mold every season as if it could be the show's last, and tailor the ending so it can satisfy on all fronts, but if the producers had any inclination that series was in danger then maybe they could have made it all a bit more snug.

Netflix's The Week Of Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

To answer your questions right away: Yes, there's a new Adam Sandler film. It is indeed part of his multi-picture deal with Netflix (his fourth -- The Meyerowitz Stories was a Netflix acquisition not an original production of theirs). Yes, he once again plays a dippy, caustic, mean-spirited, semi-failing, machismo-obsessed father whose good intentions will lead to misery and death. This may be the ninth or tenth time he has played such a role. Yes, the film's director/co-writer – in this case Robert Smigel – will rely all too heavily on casual cruelty, instances of assault, and legitimate infirmities as means of eliciting limp titters. And yes, as usual, the film is an unfunny mess, punctuated by sappy, wistful, phony emotional climaxes it does nothing to earn.

Netflix's Aggrestuko Features a Memorable Raging Red Panda

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Despite it’s adorable and bobbly art style, Aggretsuko’s sure to throw you one heck of a curveball. By day, Retsuko the red panda is a gentle and kind accountant, doing the best she can in a job she loathes. But by night, she relieves stress by tearing off the cutesy look for that of a much more sinister and loud death-metal karaoke enthusiast.

It’s hard to believe that this seething fluffball of rage is among the ranks of Sanrio. When I think Sanrio, I think Hello Kitty--I think Cinnamoroll. What is this fantastic, raging red panda? Are you trying to tell us how you really feel? Was the ultra-cute branding just a facade? With the first season now exclusively on Netflix, Aggretsuko is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, but one filled with laughs, truth bombs, and loads of societal commentary.

Razer Mamba HyperFlux and Firefly Charging Mat Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Be sure to visit IGN Tech for all the latest comprehensive hands-on reviews and best-of roundups.

Freeing yourself from your mouse's cable is a great feeling, whether you use a desktop or a laptop. The major tradeoff, however, has always been the fact that they use batteries. This adds extra weight, and of course, you have to constantly remember to keep them charged. Those days are seemingly behind us, thanks to the introduction of wireless charging mats for gaming mice.

The first was Logitech's PowerPlay system for its G903 and G703 mice, and now Razer has joined the game with its Hyperflux wireless charging system (See it on Amazon). It combines two separate peripherals: the Razer Mamba (which we reviewed last year) wireless mouse and Razer Firefly gaming mousepad. At $249.99 for the system it costs exactly the same as Logitech's pairing, so let's see how it stacks up.

Thor Gets a Beautiful but Imperfect Sendoff

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman's "Death of the Mighty Thor" storyline lived up to its name in The Mighty Thor #705, with Jane Foster making the ultimate sacrifice in order to save Asgardia from the Mangog. Now all that's left is for the Odinson and his fellow gods to pick up the pieces and mourn a fallen hero. The result is a heartfelt, bittersweet series finale, though one that wraps Jane's story on a conflicting note.

While Jane's own arc as a frail human-turned-goddess of thunder has been the driving force of this series, The Mighty Thor has also explored how this upstart Thor has impacted the gods of Asgardia. With Jane dead, that latter element comes into focus here. Both Odin and his son face their own emotional roller coasters as they grapple with the knowledge that Jane did what no god was capable of. As ever, worthiness and the responsibilities of godhood weigh heavily on Aaron's Thor run. This issue succeeds well in casting Odin as a more sympathetic figure, a welcome change from the blustering, antagonistic force he's been throughout most of Aaron's run. As for the Odinson, this issue succeeds in casting him as a man both embracing his inner hero and one tempered by recent tragedies.

Wolverine's Return Gets Off to a Poor Start

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Marvel Comics has an annoying tendency to take a good story and overextend it with too many tie-ins and offshoots. That was the case with the Death of Wolverine event in late 2014. The initial Death of Wolverine miniseries was well-crafted (you can check out my review of the hardcover here), but the story turned into a bloated mess thanks to the numerous spinoffs that followed and the dreadful Wolverines weekly series. Unfortunately, Marvel doesn't seem to have learned any lessons from that particular event. Rather than simply give readers a clear, straightforward look at the hows and whys of Wolverine's return, Hunt for Wolverine #1 is merely a prelude to a four-month-long crossover no one asked for.

Avengers: Infinity War Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Making good on Nick Fury’s promise from 10 years ago in a manner that was nigh-unimaginable at the time, Avengers: Infinity War doesn’t just assemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, it brings together the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Black Panther… and Thanos, who now must be ranked among the best villains of the MCU alongside Loki and Killmonger. That it does this while also being fun, thrilling, and emotional is perhaps something that not even Fury himself could have hoped for.

Over the course of its nearly three-hour running time, Infinity War largely makes good on the promises Marvel has implicitly made to its audience since before we even knew there would be an Infinity War. The integral aspects of the characters we’ve been following for a decade are clearly drawn here, from Tony Stark to Steve Rogers to Thor and beyond. That each of these heroes’ defining characteristics remain fully developed in an epic story that takes place across multiple planets and with an ensemble that numbers in the dozens is perhaps the most satisfying aspect of Infinity War. No one is relegated to stock player, no matter how small their role. Yes, War Machine fans, there’s even something here for you.

Westworld Begins with New Life and a Death (Maybe)

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

This review contains spoilers for the Westworld Season 2 premiere, titled "Journey Into Night."

It’s been more than a year since Westworld left our screens, and while you’d be forgiven for forgetting all the twists, turns and secret identities revealed in the first season (Bernard = Arnold; Dolores = Wyatt; Man in Black = William; Teddy = confused) the show does appear to be a little more willing to reveal its hand in the Season 2 premiere, albeit while still falling into some of the same traps it set for itself in Season 1.

Unlike last season’s dual timeline twist, the premiere establishes up front that we’re working in several time periods: The night of the host uprising and the day after; some point approximately two weeks later, when Delos company man Karl Strand and his security team find Bernard on the beach with no memory of what he’s been up to since that night; and flashbacks to a nebulous period before that, when Arnold (or Bernard? Bernarnold?) was still having his philosophical debates with a non-sentient Dolores.

My Hero Academia Episode 41 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

Instead of jumping right into the next major conflict, Season 3 of My Hero Academia has taken its time to lay the groundwork for UA High's next showdown with the League of Villains. "Kota" puts the final pieces into place, delivering a well written episode that does an excellent job at further developing My Hero Academia’s cast while setting the stage for the epic confrontation that lies ahead.

By weaving in brief shots of Dabi and his Vanguard Action Squad amongst the intense training the students are undergoing to strengthen their Quirks, "Kota" builds upon the sense of urgency that was so well presented in "Wild, Wild Pussycats." Dabi's cool and collected demeanor is unsettling in a way we haven't seen from My Hero Academia's villains in the past, and the brief glimpses at the maniacal Toga sporting a black mask are wonderfully creepy.

Radical Heights Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

The first time I dropped into the Radical Heights map and began to skydive toward the ground, I wondered when exactly my parachute would go off. By the time it was already too late, I realized it wasn’t going to. Instead, my character hit the ground with a tuck and roll straight out of an action movie and the fight began. Unfortunately, that’s about where the excitement stops in Radical Heights. Between its cringe-worthy style, shooting that doesn’t feel quite right, and a few lackluster systems, Radical Heights is currently little more than a forgettable entry in the battle royale genre.

Radical Heights is the newest game from LawBreakers developer Boss Key Productions, released on Steam into what they are calling "X-Treme Early Access." The premise isn’t much different from other battle royale games: 100 players skydive into a match in search of random weapons and gear in hopes of being the last player standing.

Why Legends of Tomorrow is the Best Arrowverse Show

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: Full spoilers for Season 3 of Legends of Tomorrow below. The entire season is now available to stream on Netflix.

Legends of Tomorrow was the best part of the Arrowverse during its second season, and that didn't necessarily change in Season 3. The show continued to deliver its unique blend of zany humor and larger-than-life superhero antics. But the fact that it stayed on top this year also goes to show how troubled the Arrowverse as a whole has been lately. Season 3 had plenty of high points, but it also struggled to build an overarching narrative to rival that of Season 2. It was a season that showed us the best and worst of the series.

Historically, Legends has never had the best track record when it comes to crafting villains as dynamic and compelling as its cast of heroes. The whole Vandal Savage/Hawkman/Hawkgirl mythology was the clear weak spot in Season 1. And while the Legion of Doom made for fun villains in Season 2, there the series was really just building on foundations laid by Arrow and The Flash. Season 3 tended to struggle in that department as well. I'll give the writers credit for creating a wholly original villain in the form of Mallus (voiced by John Noble) rather than adapting a preexisting DC character.

Tokyo Ghoul:re Episode 3 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: The following review has full spoilers for the episode.

Coming off of last week’s stellar episode, “Fresh: Eve” focused on building towards a huge mission against the Nutcracker that is sure to play out in the next episode or two. Because of this, Episode 3 feels like it is wasting time until then and comes off as the most uninteresting episode thus far. The only redeeming factors are the welcome return of Juzo and the entertaining lighthearted tone that feels deserved knowing what’s ahead for the Quinx squad.

There is a whole lot of “wait and see” from start to finish. Sasaki being offered the chance to regain his memories is a sudden turn I didn’t expect this early on in the season, but it seems that we won’t see his decision for a while longer. The same can be said for good old Urie. He’s been a one-note character only with a fresh coat of paint each new episode. He puts up a front of acting cool, spouts off empty threats in his head, and then goes about his business of going behind everyone’s backs.

Dark Crimes Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Dark Crimes debuts exclusively on DIRECTV April 19 and opens in theaters and On Demand May 18.

The real-life case that Alexandros Avranas' Dark Crimes is based on is deliciously post-modern. As detailed by author David Grann in The New Yorker, an author named Krystian Bala had murdered a businessman named Dariusz Janiszewski sometime in 2000. The trail was lukewarm-to-cold for three years when Bala published a sensationalist crime novel called Amok, wherein he essentially wrote a fictionalized version of his own actions, leading the police to him. A true crime author essentially used his own crimes as inspiration. This sounds like the premise of an episode of Tales from the Crypt, especially given Bala's propensity to present himself as a badass Nietzsche-quoting hipster nihilist.

Batman: Booster Gold Takes a Strange Turn

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

No two chapters of Tom King's Batman run have been exactly alike in terms of tone and visual style. However, the series makes an even bigger shift than usual with Batman #45. The closest comparison to be made is Batman #666, which took place in an alternate timeline and pushed Grant Morrison's Batman run in a dark, hellish new direction. It's yet another ambitious turn for King's run, though one that relies a little too much on questionable characterization along the way.

King and artist Tony Daniel make a strong statement with their opening pages, which features a familiar DC hero attempting suicide right in the front of the reader. Fortunately, this doesn't read like an attempt at empty shock value so much as a showcase for just how screwed up this new version of the DC Universe is. In a world without Batman, other, darker figures have crept in to take his place. And with new developments like Penguin becoming president, Jokers running amok and Talia al Ghul languishing in her Batman-free world, King crafts an intriguing look at a very different sort of DCU. Thematically, King is basically giving Batman his answer to the seminal Superman story "For the Man Who Has Everything."

DC Throws Superman an Epic Celebration

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

It's not every day you see a major superhero comic reach 1000 issues. DC really pulled out all the stops with Action Comics #1000, which also marks the 80th anniversary of the Man of Steel's debut.  This issue features some of the biggest names ever to work at DC Comics, along with the DC debut of a writer who's spent the past 20 years building a career at Marvel. The result is an oversized special crammed with new content. Just don't expect a great amount of depth out of these short, nostalgic stories.

The relatively short length of each individual story is probably the biggest sticking point in Action Comics #1000. Most of these stories only clock in at six pages or so, limiting what the various creative teams can actually accomplish. Most tend to emphasize the legacy of Superman, paying homage to his many incarnations and frequently pointing out the fact that his red trunks are back.

Supergirl Celebrates its Supporting Cast

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

"Schott Through the Heart" really isn't the type of episode you want to lead with after being off the air for more than two months. To be fair, you can't necessarily hold that against this episode, as surely no one on the production side of things planned on there being such a massive gap in the schedule. Still, it would have been nice to welcome the series back with a little more momentum right out of the gate, or at least with a more compelling villain of the week.

Rather than deal with the ongoing Reign conflict, "Schott Through the Heart" focused on spotlighting some of the more underutilized players in Season 3 - Winn and M'yrnn. If not ideal timing, it is nice to see some attention being paid to these two. Winn in particular hasn't had much to do so far in Season 3 beyond his usual role as snarky tech support. In a lot of ways, it feels like the writers never quite figured out what to do with the character following the move to The CW and the big status quo upheaval in Season 2. An episode framed around Winn's family drama is preferable to another half-baked romantic subplot or a return to the Guardian days.

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

After a slightly underwhelming, flashback-heavy premiere, "Wild, Wild Pussycats" picks up the momentum and pushes Season 3 of My Hero Academia forward with a solid blend of comedy and action as the students of UA High begin their summer training camp.

The standout sequence of "Wild, Wild Pussycats" is without question the students' journey through the Beast's Forest. It gives nearly every member of Class 1-A a brief moment to shine. Call of Duty: WW2 - The War Machine DLC Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

The War Machine is Call of Duty: WW2's second multiplayer DLC, and among its four maps and a Zombies expansion, there are more winners than losers. Its new content ranges from an excellent new standard multiplayer map and Zombies Easter egg challenge all the way down to some maps prone to miserably unbalanced spawn camping and a dogfight without enough room to spread your wings, which makes this an inconsistent but overall worthwhile expansion.

Of the three new core multiplayer maps, Egypt stands out as the best and one I’m always hoping for to pop up in the rotation. For all its narrow corridors through ancient ruins, Egypt still has plenty of space on the two outer lanes for long-ranged shootouts. I rarely played a game where engagements were limited to one part of the map, and I enjoyed seeing how every person made their own playstyle work here. In one game I was up against an incredible sniper who used the many pillars and entryways as cover while picking off my team. In that same game I encountered a person who was able to successfully run through most of the map with the shovel. Regardless of loadout, Egypt offers a great playground for hide and seek with plenty of options for tactical flanking and escapes thanks to its abundance of cover.

Logitech has given its newest gaming headset the simple moniker of Pro (See it on BestBuy), foregoing some bells and whistles in favor of a more streamlined device aimed at eSports enthusiasts. With a lightweight design, cross-platform compatibility, decent audio quality and a "pro" microphone, it's a headset with a pretty simple feature set.Despite its stripped-down design, it's still kind of expensive at $90, especially since it's a wired stereo headset. That said, Logitech says it's perfect for eSports or gamers who just want to use "pro" equipment. I tested them out to see how they stack up.

Netflix's Lost in Space Season 1 Is a Sci-Fi Marvel

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

This is a SPOILER-FREE review of the first season of Lost in Space. All 10 episodes will be available to stream on April 13, on Netflix.

Netflix’s Lost in Space is almost the perfect sci-fi family adventure series. But there’s a villain problem that’s difficult to ignore.

Let’s start with the good stuff. Creators Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have done a bang-up job of bringing a 50-year-old franchise into the 21st century, by filling their world with vibrant complex characters.

Hands down, the Robinson family is the show’s strongest attribute. If you’re not familiar with the story, here’s the rundown:

After a large mysterious object called the Christmas Star collides with Earth, humanity is forced to look for a new habitable world to call home. When their mothership, The Resolute, runs into a spacetime disruption, all of the Jupiter ships, including the Robinsons’, are forced to evacuate, which results in their ship crash-landing on an uncharted planet.

MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro Gaming Laptop Review

The MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro (See it on Amazon) is neither a thin-and-light, nor is it an absolute behemoth gaming laptop. Instead it's positioned as a "sweet spot" laptop with plenty of horsepower in a chassis that won't break your back thanks to its Max-Q Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU. The inclusion of a GPU that runs at lower clock speeds than a typical GTX 1070 has allowed MSI to squeeze it into a form factor that is just 4.19 pounds and 0.71 inches thick.

God of War Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Some of the best films of all time are those whose different strengths all work in concert to create a unified, engrossing whole. The Shining, The Social Network, and Jaws are all excellent examples of films made up of strong individual parts complementing each other to form a fantastic work of art. That is absolutely true of God of War – its musical score elevates story moments, which flow seamlessly into fantastic action gameplay, which facilitates exploration and puzzles that reward you with a deeper understanding of its characters and its expansive and beautiful world. God of War is a masterful composition of exceptional interlocking parts, deliberate in its design and its foreshadowing, which pays off in unexpected ways in both the gameplay and story.

Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

The rebooted Planet of the Apes movies are a trilogy of thoughtful, morally complex blockbusters that pose serious questions about what it means to be human. By contrast, Crisis On the Planet of the Apes – a VR shooter that takes place between 2014’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes and last summer’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – is repetitive, old-fashioned (as much as you can be in VR), and often all but unplayable, and the only question it poses is about your tolerance for pain.

The campaign runs about two and a half hours but feels 10 times that long – not a compliment, needless to say. Crisis makes familiar references to Caesar and the outbreak of Simian Flu, but in every other respect it has less in common with the new Planet of the Apes series than with the much-reviled Tim Burton film. It invites you to experience the world through the eyes of a nominally intelligent chimpanzee determined to escape the detention facility where it’s been confined under armed guard. I say nominally intelligent because it’s so difficult to get your primate avatar to do what you want it to do, and so awkward to perform even the most basic actions, that it’s impossible to believe you’re the astonishing evolutionary specimen the scientists you encounter insist you are. A random observer watching you struggle clumsily to pick up objects or walk forward would assume you’re nothing more than a regular monkey, and possibly a drunk one.

Rampage Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Inspired by the classic arcade game of the same name, Rampage is utterly ridiculous, campy, yet also self-aware enough to be kinda sorta dumb fun. It’s exactly the mindless, formulaic romp it's been sold as, with star Dwayne Johnson trying to carry the whole thing on his charm. But even The Rock can only do so much when a movie's this absurd.

After an insanely awful "genetic editing" formula is accidentally unleashed, three wild animals are transformed into giant mutants who go on a, yes, rampage. It’s then up to ape whisperer Davis Okoye (Johnson) to save his animal buddy, the city of Chicago, and the day.

Rampage boasts a stone cold stupid script ladened with some hilariously on-the-nose and cringe-worthy dialogue, especially when it comes to all the pseudo-science involved in turning everyday animals into giant monsters. This thankless task is mostly left to Naomie Harris to deliver. The Oscar nominee's very presence classes up her stock character, Dr. Kate Caldwell, enough that I hope whatever houseboat Harris did this paycheck movie for is as big as one of the giant monsters she’s stuck explaining.

Blumhouse's Truth or Dare Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

If you think about it, there are a lot of scary things about the game of Truth or Dare. It’s a party activity that forces people to admit unpleasant truths, or to do outlandish things, but if you’re doing it with the right group of people, it can be a healthy way to process our personal anxieties and inhibitions. With the wrong group of people, however, it can be a horrible form of peer pressure, which forces us to reveal personal shames and potentially even endanger ourselves in more ways than one.

So it makes sense to turn Truth or Dare into a horror film, but it does not make sense to turn it into Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare, a movie which is easily the silliest of its kind since Friend Request. Jeff Wadlow’s film bends over backwards to make its high-concept plot, about a haunted game of Truth or Dare, make sense on paper, but the film gets so hung up on how a game could be haunted it completely fails to make us care about who’s playing it.

HBO's Andre the Giant Doc Delivers Triumph and Tears

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

HBO's deep dive into the larger-than-life existence of André Roussimoff - aka wrestling legend Andre the Giant - hit all the right notes, delivering both on the icon's soaring highs and crumbling lows.

No matter your level of wrestling fandom - ranging from heavy to some to none at all - this inside look into the traveling carnival-style world Andre chose to embrace as his home is a fascinating journey of an artform's evolution from niche to mainstream. Andre was there, in all his hulking glory, to bridge the gap between pro-wrestling as an outlying stigma-riddled sideshow to a sweeping national phenomenon. And the way his story, as a personal tale of triumph and eventual decline, mirrored the biggest traditional period in the history of the business made for quite the "truth is stranger than fiction" ride.

Tokyo Ghoul:re Episode 2 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: The following review has full spoilers for the episode.

Talk about a complete 180 degrees turn, huh? The premiere of Tokyo Ghoul:re filled me with questions and concerns, whereas Episode 2 has left me completely speechless with its powerful look at the psyche of Sasaki Haise and an emotionally charged ending scene. “Fragments: Member” gives the necessary focus that was sorely lacking in the premiere. The entire episode has a natural flow to it, transitioning perfectly from each important revelation to another without feeling all over the place.

Kicking right off with the conclusion to the Orochi fight was an excellent way to pull the viewer in and provide some pure fan service. Everything about the action between Sasaki and - surprise! - Nishiki felt familiar, even featuring callbacks to their original fight from the first season. Nishiki is quick to address any concern over where exactly Kaneki is now, saying his seemingly taboo name and driving Sasaki crazy in the process.

Domino Doesn't Need X-Force to Shine

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

While it's great that Marvel is finally giving Domino her own solo comic, the appeal with this new series is less the character herself than the creative team involved. It's been far too long since writer Gail Simone has been a recurring presence at Marvel. And artist David Baldeon is easily one of the most underappreciated creators working at Marvel right now. Pair the two together and you have the recipe for a solid X-Men spinoff.

This first issue makes it clear that on of the core themes of the series is that being Neena Thurman isn't all it's cracked up to be. As one character points out, from the outside it seems like Domino has hit the mutant jackpot. She's young, attractive and blessed with a power that bring her endless good luck. By all rights she should be the most carefree heroine in the Marvel Universe. But as Simone and Baldeon establish, that's anything but the case. It's hard being a globetrotting assassin/occasional mutant superhero.

Captain America Celebrates His Anniversary in Style

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

It's easy to dismiss Mark Waid and Chris Samnee's short Captain America run as a mere palate cleanser, helping to bridge the gap between Nick Spencer's Secret Empire epic and Ta-Nehisi Coates' upcoming series. But while it certainly fulfills that purpose, it also tells an enjoyable, tightly crafted story about a hero getting back in touch with himself and his country. Captain America #700 delivers a rousing finish to this story and serves as one more reminder that Waid and Samnee are among the best teams working in comics today.

Extinction Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

If you set out to pay homage to both Shadow of the Colossus and Attack On Titan, but never figured out how to truly capture what made either of them special, Extinction would be the result. That’s not to say there isn’t a decent amount of straightforward, excitingly-animated hack-and-slash enjoyment to be had – I just wish it had borrowed more of the atmosphere, variety, and sense of discovery from its muses.

The stars of the show are the Ravenii, towering ogres on the warpath to wipe out every last human for reasons that become clear across the roughly 12-hour campaign. They can only be killed with a blow to the back of the neck, which usually involves an acrobatic sequence of jumps and slashes to remove armor pieces and sever limbs.

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality Review (Updated for PSVR)

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

The world of Adult Swim’s sociopathic mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his pubescent grandson Morty is full of ludicrous wonders and madcap danger, and Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality gives fans a new way to put themselves right in the middle of it with a fun and funny - though short - Touch-enabled VR experience.

You play the role of one (of the potentially infinite supply of) Clone Mortys, each of which is little more than an expendable floating head and set of hands designed by Rick to help with mundane tasks like doing laundry or repairing his spaceship. The scenarios get more involved as you go, and developer Owlchemy (of Job Simulator fame) does a good job of keeping the pacing up by cycling through several hallmark VR tasks like solving puzzles, environmental exploration, and the occasional shooting gallery.

SAO Alternative Episode 1 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Once upon a 2012, Sword Art Online consumed us with the mystique of virtual reality and unhealthy gaming habits. It played to our fears of being consumed by gaming and brought interesting discussions to the table, albeit completely unrealistic. Now, in 2018, VR can’t potentially kill its players anymore. Everything is sunshine and rainbows in SAO, and there’s a new girl to boot.

If you’re expecting Kirito, Asuna, and the rest of the SAO gang, you’re not going to get them here. SAO Alternative is just as its name implies–it’s not part of the series’ core narrative. Instead, it’s a side story following a completely new crew of characters in a world we already know from the Ballet of Bullets arc in SAO II. Returning to Gale Gun Online, this series follows LLENN, a famed solo player, and her rise to fame.

HBO's Paterno Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

When it comes to creating a good biopic, there must be a balance between factual events and dramatized moments. Leaning towards the latter by way of an artistic license could ring false. On the other hand, unless the goal is to create a documentary, only relaying the facts could result in a dull film. Barry Levinson, the Academy Award-winning director, is certainly experienced in this sort of balancing act. His past films depicting the lives of well-known individuals are sound; he normally provides a compelling narrative. His latest film, HBO’s Paterno, seems to be the outlier though.

The film opens with Joe Paterno (Al Pacino) receiving a CT scan – he’d been diagnosed with lung cancer – as he recalls the last month or two of his life via a flashback. Time rewinds to October 29th, 2011 during the Penn/Illinois football game at Beaver Stadium. It was a big day for Pennsylvania; Paterno was on the verge of winning his 409th game as the head coach of Pennsylvania State University’s Nittany Lions. Everyone who was anyone at Penn State was in attendance, including Tim Curley, Gary Schultz, and Graham Spanier (Penn State’s Athletic Director, VP, and President, respectfully). Instead of the game though, they were more concerned with the coming indictment of the former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky.

Walking Dead: Negan Went Nuts Right Before Season 8's Endgame

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...

First things freakin' first: How awful is Eugene now?

I mean, he's always been a chore, and the show's constant teasing of him possibly being on a crawl to redemption, which has lasted two seasons now, has only worked to make him more of a menace. Not just because we spent so much tedious time with him teetering back and forth, in and out of a cloud of ethics, but because we've spent so much tedious time with him period. Just a lot of time. Eugene can certainly chew up a scene and eat up a lot of air time and Season 8 has been more than willing to use him to pad things out.

But this week? In Season 8's penultimate chapter, "Worth," he not only fully back-flopped into heel territory, but he goddamn barfed all over Rosita. Just to add a gross cowardly insult to injury. Was there a specific reason he did that? Was the garlic in his special mac and cheese supposed to attract walkers or was it just a way to distract her for a few crucial seconds so he could split? And why have Daryl and Rosita nab him just so he could get away and return back to the bullet factory five minutes later? Is it because they're saving his final redemptive act for the finale? Something involving the Saviors bullets backfiring? Ugh. That's certainly possible. But do we care at this point?

My Hero Academia Season 3 Premiere Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

After an incredible second season that holds its own against the very best of last year, My Hero Academia returns with a Season 3 premiere that leaves a bit to be desired. Thanks to a large number of flashbacks recapping prior events and a pool party serving as its primary focus, "Game Start" is a fun but ultimately inconsequential episode that does little to move the characters or plot forward.

While a brief overview of prior events can be a helpful refresher at the start of a new season, "Game Start" goes a bit overboard with so much reused animation. Kurogiri recounts Deku's actions, Aizawa goes over the abilities of every Class 1-A student, and Deku is shown rewatching his old cherished footage of All Might saving people. We also get flashbacks of the practical exams, the sports festival, and the students' fight against Stain.

Ghost Stories Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

“The brain sees what it wants to see” is the refrain Professor Goodman clings to whenever he faces the inexplicable. Unsurprisingly his rational worldview is called into question frequently in Ghost Stories – a smart, haunting, and relentlessly inventive collection of supernatural tales.

Adapted from the successful West End play by Nyman and Jeremy Dyson, Ghost Stories not only revives but elevates the old horror movie format of the portmanteau. Long synonymous with Britain’s second horror studio Amicus, the form typically draws together four or five short horror tales within a framing narrative.

Ghost Stories focuses on three tales of the unexplained, with the protagonist of each recounting their uncanny experience to Nyman’s sceptic Professor. To go into the set-up and specifics of each story would be to defang them, but each one has its own charms and plays with a different aspect of the supernatural. It starts with suspenseful and terrorising (Paul Whitehouse’s opening segment), then pivots into something utterly bonkers and satanic (Alex Lawther’s middle section), before concluding with Martin Freeman's melancholic and eerie closer. The performances are wonderful throughout, with each actor carrying their individual segments brilliantly.
