The Walking Dead has consistently delivered some of the most memorable and unexpected plot twists of any comic on the stands. It seems only fitting that Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard saved their biggest surprise for last. The Walking Dead #193 is not the first chapter in a new, Rick Grimes-less era for the series. It's instead the last stop on a whirlwind journey that's been unfolding for the past sixteen years. But as abrupt as this conclusion may seem, it far from unsatisfying. This finale is a way for two creators to end their story on their terms while giving fans all the closure they could ever want.
