Titans has never been the most focused superhero series around. Season 1 had a frustrating habit of alternating one plot-driven episode with one side-story geared toward supporting characters. You can't argue that was entirely a bad thing, as "Doom Patrol" turned about the be the best episode of the season in addition to serving as a backdoor pilot for the Doom Patrol series. But that approach definitely doesn't do much for the show's overall momentum. Now Season 2 seems to be settling into a familiar pattern. "Conner" adds a worthy new hero to the mix, but is now really the right time?
