Fear the Walking Dead: "Pillar of Salt" Review

In the most cluttered episode of Season 2's second half, Fear the Walking Dead awkwardly connected the three main separate storylines in a rather flat, uninteresting manner. By having Nick become overly-concerned with trading oxy (and mistrusting Alejandro), and having Hector coincidentally be related to the dude running the Tijuana superstore, the show transformed from a vast landscape into an odd, serendipitous fish bowl.

Travis showing up right at the end, to see the lit up hotel sign, was the final step in this shift, and I can't help but feel that these groups are being thrust back together before they've had enough time to do anything truly interesting on their own. Of course, we don't know what happened on Travis' end just yet. Chris wasn't with him, and he hadn't succumbed to a foot infection (yet), so there's most certainly a story to tell, but "Pillar of Salt" seemed to indicate that this season is basically ready to just reunite everyone and set them back out on the road.
