Revolution #1 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Note: this is a spoiler-free advance review of Revolution #1, which will be released on Wednesday, September 21.

With Revolution, IDW aims to provide readers with the franchise mash-up they've been dreaming of since the early '80s. Most of IDW's Hasbro-licensed franchises (excluding fare like My Little Pony and Dungeons & Dragons) are being drawn together in one shared universe. The result is every bit as fun and crowded and chaotic as one would expect.

The ultimate goal with Revolution is to unite the casts of G.I. Joe, Transformers, Action Man, Rom, MASK and Micronauts in one epic adventure. Thankfully, writers John Barber and Cullen Bunn don't attempt to cram every one of those groups into this first issue. The cast of characters is massive enough as it is. Luckily, there's not *too* much exposition weighing down the plot in this issue. Most of that was covered in the recent FCBD prelude, which is reprinted in the back of this issue for those interested.
