Marvel Heroes isn't quite ready to make the jump to Marvel Heroes 2016 until January, but Marvel Heroes 2015 still has new content on the way this month. The latest update to the game adds the 54th hero to the roster, the martial arts powerhouse Iron Fist, who operates quite differently from his fellow heroes.
Iron Fist is all about his Chi, so it's no surprise that Chi will actually act as a replacement for the standard Spirit when using him. A Stance Opener move will fill up Iron Fist's Chi meter, as well as grant him a distinct fighting style and buff effects. These stances include the Leopard Stance, Crane Stance, Dragon Stance, Tiger Stance, and Snake Stance. His Signature power is the Iron Fist Punch, which devastates foes and leaves a huge shockwave behind the point of contact.
Comic fans will remember Iron Fist as the mighty warrior that trained in the mystical city of K'un-L'un, where he defeated the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying to gain his power. He's mainly known as one half of the Heroes for Hire, alongside Luke Cage, and has experienced something of a popularity revival in the past decade, thanks to a fantastic solo series from author Matt Fraction. Iron Fist has become so well-known in Marvel circles in recent years that he's among the heroes slated to receive his own Netflix series, along with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage.
In addition to Iron Fist, a new Team-Up Hero has been added in the form of the whacked-out and strange Howard the Duck. Players can unlock him by completing the A.R.M.O.R. Defender mission four times. All of this new content is out today, just in time for Marvel Heroes' 14 Days of Festive Favors event.
