The downside to getting such a concentrated dose of Young Justice Outsiders over the past month is that it's over that much sooner. This week's batch of four episodes serves as the midseason finale, with the series going on hiatus until June to make way for Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing. It's going to be a long, hard wait. But, hey, Young Justice fans are plenty used to waiting by now.
This week's four-episode arc felt like a return to the formula established by the opening three episodes. That's true both in that the focus returned to the concept of teen metahuman trafficking, and that there's more of a direct flow from one episode to the next. In some ways I find myself actually preferring the looser, more scattered approach of previous weeks. But the good news is that "Nightmare Monkeys" is thrown into the mix as a sort of weird, quirky outlier. In that sense, you get a "best of both worlds" approach with these episodes.
