Editor's note: We want to preface this mostly spoiler-free review by saying that the less you know going into Russian Doll, the more satisfying it will be - but if you need a little more context before you pull the trigger, read on for the basics.
By now, you’ve probably heard that Netflix’s Russian Doll — which dropped at the beginning of February and quickly took the Internet by storm — is the new Groundhog Day. But Natasha Lyonne’s inventive comedy has far more in common with the likes of Edge of Tomorrow or your favorite roguelike game, where different actions open up different story paths, but every time our main character dies (and it happens frequently), she’s transported back to the beginning of the story cycle.
