It’s probably not the greatest sign that the most enjoyable episode of the Flash since the crossover is also one that downplays the Cicada storyline in favor of a new villain. Still, a win is a win, and “Goldfaced” is a welcome example of the series firing on all cylinders with its ensemble cast.
I’ll admit to not being overly enthusiastic about the premise of “Goldfaced” coming in. The basic plot wasn’t so different from “What’s Past Is Prologue” from a few weeks back. Team Flash cooks up a goober that promises to stop Orlin Dwyer’s rampage, and Barry sets out to track it down. And just like before, said goober winds up being useless in the end.
