How you can have your own Space Program for a few hundred pounds.
Great news folks. You remember the Edge of Space project, where
we sent a probe up 20 miles above the Earth and using IBM Messaging and
IBM Internet of Things technology, relayed that telemetry to control the
conditions in the IBM Innovation Center in IBM Hursley?
If you haven't or would like to read more about it, check out our blog post - https://developer.ibm.com/messaging/2015/07/23/messaging-with-bluemix-from-the-edge-of-space-ibmimp1-epilogue/
Well, after its adventure to the Edge of Space, our probe,
the IBMImp1 now takes its place in the IBM Hursley Museum of Technology, standing
along side IBM's technology milestones. Hoorah!
To find out how you can have your own space probe, you can
check out the Google Hangout where John and Jezz talk about the
technology behind the probe, what you need to keep in mind before you go
about launching, and of course how you can get your hands on the
software for free.

And if your are part of a University or other academic institution, see
how you could use Bluemix technology for free to support your technology
courses:

And yes, that is a TARDIS, we sent one of those into space with the
probe (many thanks to the BBC Brand team for their kind permission)
