Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow.
As the final episode before Limitless breaks for the holiday, "This is Your Brian on Drugs" once again broke the crime procedural mold by focusing mostly on other characters -- which at this point I think the show has earned, as the ensemble has proved they're almost, if not just as strong as Brian and Rebecca. That's not to say the dynamic duo didn't have a part to play this week, but the Pulp Fiction-esque segments featuring other characters was a fun way to tell this story, while also hinting at what's to come.
Starting out with Mike & Ike was also a fun choice and gave us a better glimpse at their personal lives. It's great how Brian's bodyguards have developed from one-note joke characters to actual people with their own problems and struggles. And in terms of setting up this week's case, I liked how it was mostly NTZ-centric -- back to basics -- with Ike taking a bullet for Mike, thus upping the emotional stakes. It also served as a good wakeup call for Brian, who began to reconsider his respect for them.
