In a somewhat bottlenecked, scattered Gotham, Jim proved to be one of the worst moles in the history of undercover work while, simultaneously, the Court showed their hand as one of the most easily duped secret societies ever.
There were sputtering moments of fun in "Light the Wick" - a chapter that featured everyone on the roster while barreling us forward into this season's endgame. Presumedly, a climax that, like some other aspects of this final arc, comes straight from Batman Begins and the League's plot to infect all of Gotham with a toxic gas meant to drive people mad.
Jim facing off against Talon, and then watching Talon get torched by Firefly was a good bit of business. As was the return of Michael Chiklis' Barnes - who the show is all-but calling Executioner now. Wrapping everything back around to the fall's storyline involving the Alice Tetch virus is a nice way to make the season, which has been segmented into three different arcs (which two big breaks), feel tighter and congealed. Even just seeing Mad Hatter briefly, at the top of the episode, was a good callback.
