You can't argue that the Season 3 finale of The Strain didn't shake up the show's status quo in a big way. The Master cheated death and claimed Eldritch Palmer as his new host body. Young Zach lashed out against his father by detonating a nuclear warhead and covering the land in darkness. In a world where vampire scan now freely walk the streets 24/7, humanity's struggle for survival has only grown more immediate and desperate. It's a strong foundation on which to build a fourth and final season. And the Season 4 premiere made it clear that plenty has changed since last we saw Eph and the gang, even if it seems we're in for another slow buildup.
