This X-Men Comic Is a Game-Changer

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

House of X #1 served as a strong start to Jonathan Hickman's X-Men relaunch, but it didn't go all the way in terms of revealing an overarching vision for the franchise. Many of the plot points in that issue - the X-Men flocking to a new mutant nation, Professor Xavier and Magneto working hand-in-hand, etc. - are elements we've seen in the past. But thanks to Powers of X #1 and now House of X #2, we now have a much better idea of what Hickman is planning and why this latest relaunch marks such a dramatic paradigm shift for the X-Men. If you weren't sold on the new direction before, House of X #2 may very well seal the deal.

Further proving that there's little point in attempting to read only one or the other of Hickman's two X-books, House of X #2 builds very directly on a scene from last week's Powers of X #1. Early in that issue, Hickman and artist RB Silva included a scene where a younger Charles Xavier is approached by Moira MacTaggert for the first time. Xavier is shocked by what he finds inside Moira's mind, resulting in what Marvel has been teasing as "the most important scene in X-Men history." Exactly why that encounter is so significant wasn't obvious at the time, but thanks to House of X #2, it certainly is now.
