Lara Croft is on what looks (and feels, if my 45 minutes with the game last night are any indication) like one of the most frustrating journeys ever to discover the secret of immortality in Rise of the Tomb Raider. Frustrating for Lara, anyway. I had a blast.
Get this: Her family thinks she's nuts, but she's going to go and continue her father's research despite what anyone else thinks, because she's Lara Croft. And she doesn't have time for your opinion.
The latest Rise of the Tomb Raider trailer features footage from the first hour or so of the game, following Lara as the story gets underway. Accompanied by the dulcet tones of Karen 0 of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lara traverses a snowy mountain, comes face to face with a shadowy organization, and shows off impossibly shiny, glossy hair despite being plunged into mud, freezing water, and pelted with snow. Grab a blanket and be really thankful it exists, because it looks super cold where she is.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is slated for release on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10, with PS4 and PC versions coming Q1 2016.
