It's rare to see a comic (especially a short mini-series like this) change so much from the first issue to the second. But perhaps it was inevitable once it was announced that Jim Lee wouldn't be returning for the remaining three chapters of Batman: Europa. In many ways, this second issue looks and reads like a different comic. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
The book has a noticeably different visual style now that Giuseppe Camuncoli is flying solo rather than simply providing layouts. Camuncoli handles colors as well as pencils and inks here, and the results are still something to behold. He fills this issue with dynamic page layouts and exciting action sequences and vivid displays of color. If one of the main selling points of Europa is that the book is taking place outside of Gotham City and America entirely, it's imperative that the art focus as much attention on the environments as it does the characters. Camuncoli has no problem with that, boasting a haunted, almost storybook-worthy rendition of Prague.
