Well, I wasn’t expecting that. The Season 9 finale for Doctor Who, “Hell Bent,” feinted and ducked with its primary storyline, almost sidelining the hybrid thread that this entire year has been building towards while choosing instead to focus on Clara one more time -- until it turned out that the hybrid and Clara stories were in fact one and the same. And man, did Steven Moffat really fake us out on both of those points heading into this episode.
