Were you prepared for the intensity of the Supernatural midseason finale? Knowing both the Cage and Amara were factors should have prepared me, but both arcs went in unexpected directions. It's interesting. The Winchesters have faced every terrible thing you can imagine and then some, yet neither of them considered a malevolent force was sending Sam's visions. Sam prayed to God, he got a vision, and therefore the god who hasn't been seen or heard from in far too long was responsible. In hindsight, they should have questioned the source more and realized Lucifer was a possible candidate. Heck, I should have thought about the source more. Desperation and optimism can be a dangerous combination, kids.
