AMD Announces 7th-Generation A-Series Processor

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

AMD has gone a long way to offer extraordinary practicality with a real bang for your buck, and today at Computex 2016, the company has unveiled its latest 7th-generation AMD A-Series chips. Stating that the chips will deliver "hands-down super performance at every price point," there are some lofty claims being made here. But also some extremely impressive ones.

AMD asserts that the new 7th-generation A-Series APUs are actually 56 percent faster than 2014 hardware when it comes to performance. That's extremely impressive when compared to Intel, which has only moved upward about 25% over the last couple of years.

The A series features the FX, A12, and A10 lines, which will feature some of the best integrated graphics AMD can offer. They're meant mainly for use by laptops, which is great news for on-the-go gaming and performance. AMD also made it clear that most of the hardware will come bundled with a video game (A6 and E2 chips excluded.)

There's no pricing information or release dates for the new processors just yet, but that should all be coming soon. It's an exciting time for PC gamers to be sure.
