To call The Americans characters multi-faceted seems to be underselling to an incredible degree at this point. We found out the full extent of what was planned for Don and Young Hee here and it was brutal – as Elizabeth first delivered the bombshell that “Patty” was pregnant, and then was… killed off! But we never doubted how much this pained Elizabeth, as the Jennings were told there was no other option.
I loved seeing Gabriel actually on a mission for once, and the way we realized the stranger posing as “Mom” was actually the computer expert Tatiana needed was awesome – another cool way The Americans weaves its characters together even when we never see them onscreen together.
