It shouldn't come as a surprise that people want to get their hands on Final Fantasy XV. I want to. You probably want to. It's going to be a huge release.
According to Square Enis CEO Yosuke Matsuda, however, the company is expecting Final Fantasy XV to be their biggest title of fiscal year 2017, as it's already "racked up an impressive volume of pre-orders worldwide." It's going to be the first single-player Final Fantasy game with a worldwide simultaneous release, Matsuda added, which is no doubt an important milestone in the RPG's history.
Final Fantasy XV is being accompanied by an especially intensive marketing campaign, and a special collector's edition that sold out very quickly once it went on sale. It's coming available again this Monday, May 31 if you missed out on it the first time around.
Final Fantasy XV releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 30.
