It was a nice change of pace as recruitment for the Tournament of Power took a backseat this week while we spent time with the other universes. Even still, Goku also had plenty of screen time, and thankfully, this week he didn’t do anything too outrageous. In fact he was part of one of the most surprising events of an overall great episode.
Since his introduction during the Dragon Ball Z series, Buu has been a strange but wonderful character. Just when you think he’s out of surprises, he shows up incredibly fit and ready to fight. I couldn’t help but grin as he revealed his new physique and then promptly walloped Goku in a practice fight. I find it intriguing that the lazy, food-loving Buu would go to such lengths before the tournament and I wonder if this is a change that will have repercussions later on down the road. Could Buu 2.0 become a villain again?
