Into the Badlands: "Nightingale Sings No More" Review

With this being the penultimate episode of Into the Badlands' second season, "Nightingale Sings No More" was mostly about arranging pieces on the board and preparing for next week's dramatic showdown. Despite that, this proved to be a very engaging new chapter, thanks both to a healthy dose of martial arts goodness and some very intriguing character developments.

This episode opened with one of the bigger reveals of the season, as we learned that Baijie's old pupil, Flea, is none other than the Widow. That certainly made Baijie's role in the coming conflict that much more interesting. And it's always nice to get a little more insight into Minerva's tragic background. Her interest in M.K. suddenly makes a lot more sense given their shared ties to the Abbots. I do wish this episode focused more on the reunion between Minerva and Baijie, but hopefully the finale can make up for that omission.
