Spoilers follow for this episode of Doctor Who.
It’s time for Bill to get her own place! Well, she and some acquaintances will be sharing a new house, which of course is always an exciting adventure for a young person, to finally move out of their folks’ home and out into the world. And man, what a dream spot these kids find -- a stately old manor complete with its very own tower. It’s too good to be true! Literally.
David Suchet (of Hercule Poirot fame) plays the creepy landlord of the house, who rents the place to Bill and her friends for a song. The catch, of course is that the manor turns out to be seemingly haunted. (More on that in a sec.) Suchet is good as the worst kind of landlord, not only because you just know he’s got some sinister plan but also because he simply won’t leave the kids alone, always popping up and getting in their business. “Yes, we’ll remember to lock the windows!”
