It looks like not every augment is worth having. Square Enix and Eidos Montreal announced today on the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided website that the "Augment Your Pre-order program" has been officially canceled. The reasons cited include frustration among fans and a "resounding amount of negative feedback."
The Augment Your Pre-order program was implemented as a means to let fans choose what pre-order bonuses they wanted. The 5-tier selection system had 1-3 rewards each. Undisclosed pre-order goals unlocked a tier, and then customers would secretly vote for the bonuses they wanted. Rewards included special costumes, a digital art book, game soundtrack, and an earlier release date for pre-order customers.
Now that the program is canceled, all the pre-order incentives will now be offered as a straightforward pre-order incentive. However, there will not be an early release of the game. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will release for everyone on February 23, 2016.
