Halo 5: Guardians has 'plenty of chance' to appear on PC

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

We’re just a few days away from the launch of Halo 5: Guardians on the Xbox One, but 343 Industries’ franchise director, Frank O’Connor, has made some interesting comments regarding the game’s future on PC.

During a livestream with GamesRadar, O’Connor hinted at Halo 5 possibly expanding beyond being an Xbox One exclusive, and entering the world of PC gaming, which wouldn’t be a first for the franchise. “There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC,” he said during the stream. “Nothing to announce at this point, but it’s absolutely within the bounds of reason.”

He continued, “We developed the game on an Intel platform. It wouldn’t be the hardest thing in the world to move it to PC and take advantage of PC stuff. But nothing to announce today.”

The Halo series is no stranger to making appearances on PC as Halo: Combat Evolved made its PC debut back in 2003, with Halo 2 making its debut in 2007. Since then, the only other Halo games that have made their way to PC have been the top-down twin-stick shooters, Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike.

Since it’s been nearly ten years since PC gamers have had the opportunity to play a full-fledged Halo game, we can’t help but think the ongoing cross-platform promotion of Windows 10 and Xbox One could mean we may be seeing Halo 5 on the platform much sooner than we think.
