Daredevil/Punisher #1 Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

The ongoing rivalry between Daredevil and Punisher is one of the more fascinating relationships in the Marvel Universe. It's always fun to see the two characters beat on each other for a while, but it's the philosophical divide between Matt Murdock and Frank Castle that truly makes things interesting. Unfortunately, the first chapter of this new mash-up series focuses mainly on the physical side of the the equation.

The conflict here could scarcely be more straightforward. ADA Matt Murdock has an important prisoner he needs escorted. Frank Castle would rather see said prisoner dead. You can pretty much guess where things go from there. Matt's narration provides a little context and insight into his troubled relationship with Frank, but nothing we haven't seen in previous battles between the two characters. The only true wrinkle to the formula is the addition of Blindspot as the unwitting third wheel . His reactions to meeting the Punisher for the first time are amusing, and he may be the key when it comes to breaking new ground in the Daredevil/Punisher dynamic.
