The Path: "Refugees" Review

The latest game news from IGN - one of my fave channels ever - check it out

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

The Path delivered its biggest, most intense episode to date with "Refugees," in which the movement found itself smack dab in the middle of a media storm thanks to Cal's impulsive decision to aid the Honduran refugees. And with helicopters swooping overhead for most of the episode, and Abe now assigned to watch the cult full time, things came to a dark bottleneck after Cal discovered that Eddie was helping Alison.

And all of it ending with a huge murderous moment from Cal, who snapped and,  in the heat of anger, murdered Silas after being told he was a fraud and the the entire movement was over. So a really big and grim moment for the show here, but not one that hadn't been set up ahead of time. I mean, perhaps an argument could be made that this type of gruesome kill didn't quite fit tonally with the rest of the series, but the seeds were definitely planted for Cal's anger, alcoholism, and impetuousness. And temper too, as the premiere of the series ended with Cal brutally beating Mary's father.
