This is a review for all 10 episodes of Narcos: Season 2, which will be released on Netflix on Friday, September 2nd. While I've watched the entire season, I will not be going into full spoilers.
Like many other Netflix original series, Narcos provides us with a unique, somewhat out-of-bounds viewing experience. As with House of Cards, Bloodline, Marco Polo and other streaming shows, Narcos' voice, tone, and look are very specific. But it also, like those shows, can become a prisoner of its own format a bit too much, so that by the time subsequent seasons roll around, the chance of providing us with something new becomes more difficult - because it's very difficult to top that first, introductory season.
