Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.
Nothing quite sums up the sheer ridiculousness of the Prison Break revival like T-Bag’s new robot hand. But while T-Borg sat out of this episode, Michael Scofield may have just matched the unintentional hilarity with his line about the gum. You’d think that such an audacious boast would have had a worthy payoff, but it seemed like an overly complicated plan considering that everything Michael needed was already in his cell before he made his prison lighter. To quickly recap, Michael took a ferocious beating just to score some morphine for a trade with one of his cellmates. By any measure, that’s not a good plan.
Make no mistake, it was fun to see Michael back in action after being sidelined for most of the premiere episode. But in an effort to recapture some of the magic from the first season of Prison Break, the revival seems to be skipping over important things like characterization and development for Michael’s new allies, Sid and Whip. Consequently, they’re just not very interesting foils for Michael, especially when compared to his initial supporting cast back in Fox River or even Sona.
