Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow.
After last week's big, game-changing episode, it made sense that "Manhunter" would be a bit more low-key in its execution. But what this episode lacked in major set pieces it more than made for in character development, as Kara, J'onn and Alex dealt with the aftermath of Supergirl's Red K rampage. It also cleverly snuck in origins for all three main characters, by way of Colonel James Harper (Warehouse 13's Eddie McClintock) and Major Lucy Lane.
While the interrogation scenes were fairly weak, the flashbacks were great. Given this episode's title, it came as no surprise that J'onn's flashback was the strongest, particularly his meeting with Jeremiah Danvers. Of course, we knew Dean "Superman" Cain would be coming back at some point, but I was glad to see him put to great use in this. For one, I loved how he immediately connected with J'onn in that his daughter was also a "refugee," and, similarly, how J'onn related to Jeremiah being a family man, having raised two daughters himself.
