The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD: What's New for the Remake

Here we go, the latest and greatest from Shacknews...

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD makes lots of changes, big and small, to the 2006 classic. This guide will explain what has been changed for the remake.

Major Changes and Additions

  • Features new Cave of Shadows endurance dungeon, similar to the Cave of Ordeals

  • Adds a new Colossal Wallet as a reward for completing the Cave of Shadows
  • Adds various Amiibo functionality for Link, Toon Link, Wolf Link, Princess Zelda, Sheik, and Ganondorf

  • 1080p Resolution and Additional Textures
  • Hero Mode is available from the start of the game
  • Features new Miiverse stamps
  • A new Ghost Lantern item assists in finding Poes for the 

Smaller Tweaks and Balance

  • Areas only have 12 Tears of Light instead of 16
  • Wallet sizes have been changed: 500 (Default), Big (1,000), and Giant (2,000)
  • Link has three equippable Item slots
  • Gyroscope is used for aiming weapons like Bow and Gale Boomerang
  • Wii U GamePad provides streamlined equipment and map interface
  • Link is left-handed (as in GameCube version) rather than right-handed (as in Wii version)
  • Supports off-screen play on GamePad by pressing (-) button
