Sony has announced PlayStation 4 update 3.50 will begin rolling out tomorrow.
One of the most notable features in version 3.50 is the ability for PC and Mac users to be able to stream their PlayStation 4 console to their computer. PS4’s Remote Play capabilities will be expanded to work on Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or later, OS X 10.10, and OS X 10.11. PC users will be able to select from the following resolution and frame rate options:
- Resolution options: 360p, 540p, 720p (Default: 540p)
- Frame rate: Standard (30fps), High (60fps) (Default: Standard)
The DualShock 4 will also be supported, but you’ll need to have it connected to your PC or Mac via a USB cable. If you prefer to enjoy your controller wirelessly, we know there are a number of apps out there that allow you to connect the DualShock 4 to your PC via Bluetooth.
In addition to Remote Play support on PC and Mac, version 3.50 will allow users to appear offline, which you can designate automatically if you prefer to always she shown offline. On the other side of the spectrum, if you want to know what friends come online to hassle them to play Destiny, you can now receive notifications when particular users come online.
Version 3.50 will also make it easier to gather groups together to play. User scheduled events allow players to schedule gameplay sessions with friends, which will automatically add those invited into a party once the event starts.
PlayStation 4 update 3.50 will roll out to consoles starting tomorrow.
